MISSIONS
ALCADIA is seeking an experienced Standardisation Production Engineer to support ESA’s Space Standardisation Section and the management of ECSS and ESA standardisation activities.
The successful candidate will contribute to the preparation, coordination, monitoring and continuous improvement of European space standards and support ESA Standardisation Boards and Working Groups.
The Engineer will be responsible for the following main activities :
Standardisation Working Groups Support
- Organise and support ECSS and ESA Working Groups.
- Prepare Working Group kick-off meetings.
- Present applicable standardisation processes and drafting rules.
- Support Working Group Convenors throughout the standards development lifecycle.
Standards Production Activities
- Support the preparation and maintenance of ECSS standards.
- Review Drafts for Review (DFR).
- Verify compliance with ECSS drafting rules.
- Support publication and implementation activities.
Lessons Learned Activities
- Gather feedback from Working Groups and Convenors.
- Analyse issues encountered during standards development.
- Produce lessons learned reports.
- Propose process improvements.
ESA Standardisation Boards Support
Support secretariat activities for:
- ESSB
- ESB
- QSB
- MSB
including:
- Agenda preparation.
- Meeting organisation.
- Minutes preparation.
- Action tracking.
- Reporting.
LEAS Management
- Maintain and update the List of ESA Applicable Standards (LEAS).
- Ensure consistency between ESA standards and ECSS standards.
- Support dissemination of updated standards.
Training Activities
- Prepare training material.
- Support ESA Academy activities.
- Support ECSS training courses.
- Support standardisation workshops.
Reporting & Dashboards
- Produce management reports.
- Maintain KPIs and dashboards.
- Support annual standardisation planning.
SKILLS
We are seeking an experienced professional holding a Master’s degree (MSc) in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in space engineering, Product Assurance or standardisation activities.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong expertise in space standardisation, engineering practices and stakeholder coordination within the ESA ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate solid knowledge of:
- ECSS standards and ESA standardisation processes
- Technical writing and documentation production
- Working Group coordination and stakeholder management
- SharePoint tools and collaborative environments
- Reporting activities and dashboard preparation
In addition, the following experience would be highly valued:
- Proven experience within ESA/ESTEC environments
- Participation in ECSS Working Groups
- Support to governance boards such as ESSB, ESB, QSB or MSB
- LEAS management activities
- Product Assurance and Systems Engineering
Strong communication skills are required, with fluency in both English and French, enabling effective collaboration in an international environment.
